Jared's Luau

Jared was the smartest, kindest most humble human being. He always thought of others before himself, remembered everyone’s birthdays and basically could figure out any piece or technology in a second. More than any of that - he was my little brother.

Jared was diagnosed with Hodgekins Lymphoma when he was only 14. It’s hard to believe that next week will be one year since he passed at only 16 years old. It has been a hard year for all of us (I am the oldest of 7) - and it’s still hard to look through photos without tears.

I wanted to do something that would keep his memory alive and give back. At one of Jared’s many treatments, our family stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Salt Lake City. Ronald McDonald House is truly an incredible organization that provides a peaceful and comfortable place for families in time of need. I felt that would be a great cause to give back to and Jared would have been proud.

Then came Jared’s Luau. I wanted to do a luau inspired charity event - that was laid back and fun. I was struggling to find a name and with the help of my Hubby, we found “Jared’s Luau” -- so fitting.

I started reaching out to my vendor partners to help me put on this event and everyone welcomed it with open arms. I can’t even express how grateful I am and everyone went SO above and beyond and far exceeded my vision and expectations.

I am so excited to share these photos with you... to share Jared with you. Many tears fell even writing this post, but I am so excited for next year's event and to continue supporting more incredible organizations in the future.

P.S. We raised almost $5,000!

XOXO,

 Rebekkah
