I have a few tips about how it's important to hire a wedding planner BUT also an honest and reputable one. There are so many incredible vendors in this industry and most of us care SO MUCH about our couples. It's not just about the money to us - it's about the experience and allowing you to really step back and enjoy each moment.
Of course, we would LOVE for you to choose us here at Runway, but in search for the planner that fits you the best - here are a few things I would like you to consider:
1. MAKE A CONNECTION
Make sure you connect with them, love their vibes, love what they are about. Energy is infectious!
2. REFERRALS ROCK
Referrals are the best. If in doubt - ask your venue or your your vendors! No one is going to send you to someone they can't trust or rely on.
3. DO YOUR RESEARCH
Do your research. Make sure they have reviews, a good website and reputation.
4. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS
Ask in detail of what they do on wedding day if they don't tell you first. I love to fill our Couples in on what we do before they even ask. I have worked hard on making the back end streamlined for them so they can get the most out of their planning process with us.
5. PAY VENDORS DIRECTLY
It's MORE than okay to use your planner as a resource for referrals and recommendations but personally, I recommend to pay every other vendor directly. That way you know EXACTLY what you are paying for with no questions and no hidden fees.
6. INSURANCE IS A MUST
Makes sure your planner (or any vendor for that matter!) is licensed and insured. Reputable vendors should have a Certificate of Insurance.
