EVENT ASSISTANT

Job Description:

Runway Events believes in the power of working as a team and exceeding expectations. At each event we offer a Lead Planner and at least one Event Assistant to support the Lead Planner throughout the event day. Responsibilities vary by event, but here is a quick review:

  • Setting up / tearing down décor
  • Distributing personal flowers
  • Assisting with the “getting ready” portion of the day
  • Greeting vendors
  • Cueing musicians and/or DJs
  • Assisting family and wedding party with photos
  • Attending to the questions and needs of guests, vendors and the wedding party
  • Keeping everyone on time
  • Quick problem solving

Event Assistants typically work a handful of events throughout the month - generally during the weekend. Scheduling is determined based on season and the best pairing of Event Assistant with the Lead Planner and client. Event Assistants can expect to work as few as 2 events to as many as 10 events throughout the month and must be available for on-call shifts as well.

This position does offer opportunity for growth. All of Runway’s Lead Planners started as Event Assistants and went through the process to be promoted to lead their own events. This opportunity can be discussed as you exceed the expectation of an Event Assistant.

Requirements:

  • Event planning experience is a plus
  • Experience in customer service
  • Positive, energetic and welcoming personality
  • Professional, both in appearance and demeanor
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Great at multi-tasking
  • Punctual
  • A team player and respond to direct, immediate requests
  • Committed to being a perfectionist
  • Able to remain calm through intense, stressful situations
  • Able to be on their feet for long hours
  • Able to lift up-to 30 pounds
